It has been some time since I last wrote something here. You know the usuals, life, one thing follows the other, busy…… but I do not want to give myself any excuses, simply put, I think I could have done better. I would have taken more time out to sit down and reflect, if I could go back in time. It’s 10:25PM right now, 15 March, 2026. I just got my wife in bed, and I am writing this alone in the room next door. Every one of us has to have some time like this once in a while. I wish I could do this more often. We all have our responsibility in life, and a lot of times we will feel like we are playing the catchup… so everyday, we gotta go back to the grind and get things done, but I guess it would not hurt if we can have some time for ourselves.
I have made some notes recently on some things that I learnt recently. They are a little bit too… not so related to business so I think it would be better that I write it here instead of on the Weekly Journal section of repillow.co . Actually, one of the many reasons that I started writing the Weekly Journals on https://repillow.co/ is that a few years back I got a lot of learnings and realizations and thoughts working on this little Re Pillow Co. little project, I kind of want to share it but I know probably most people will be bored by them so I was thinking why not just write them down, shove it somewhere on the internet, so if someone’s interested, they can casually hop in and read one of it, or if they are REALLLY into it, they can just take a few hours and read from Journal #001 to whatever it may be. I keep it honest. To myself. And very genuine. Just like this blog. Because this is who I am. If you are interested, hop onto https://repillow.co/blogs/weekly. I have been doing this every week for four years now, so there should be something for you. I hope they help.
The Law of Luck
I feel like recently especially in the last two years, the wealth and power has been more and more concentrated into the hands of few. The people are now going into two extremes, those that are doing well, and those that aren’t quite so. I am not going to go political right now but you can decide whether it’s true. The environment right now is in favor for few. Very skewed in fact. I am of course a man living very humble life… but in my work I come across quite some wealthy clients. On the opposite end there are also some less well-off ones. And in all these exchanges and conversations that I have, I realize the law of luck.
Here it is.
The more calculations you do and the more you try to grip onto things, the easier they leave you. However, the more carefree you are and the more that you more that you are doing good for the people just because you want to do good for them, not because of you are trying to get anything back, the more you get and the more lucky you are.
I know, to some this might sound counter-intuitive, but this is what I observed. If you just smile to people that you meet every morning and be a happy person, not seeking anything in return, luck comes to you. If you are always trying to hold onto things and try to get the better end out of everything, you get nothing. The culture now, which I am pretty confident that this will continue, is teaching people to try to get the better end out of everything. Everyone seems to want to win over others. “I win. You lose.” This is really good for you.
The Physical State is closely related to your Mental State

I had this constant battle of being a PIG and a handsome guy.
That is, depending on the time of the year, and the year, I could either be real fat and ugly, or OK (lets not call myself handsome… this is getting weird now). Now recently, over the last half year or so, I am more on the OK side.
And it is because I am now in a better physical state, I feel better, and that because I feel better, I do better at work and everything in life. Hell, for real, I feel like I think more positively even, when I face the same challenges. I guess it is first that deep down, first, I feel better about myself in this world. Secondly, as I have physically less fat attached to my body underneath my skin, so I am more light and agile in my movements, so I also feel better physically as well. In everything I do, I can make decisions faster, and less weary. This is really good.
I dont know about you but truly I have always been looking for ways to improve my performance in all aspect of life, this discovery is really is something. When my physical state is better, I feel better, my default setting is better, and my performance is better. And this whole thing stays with you, there is no need to take pills or injection, and its probably healthy as well, as a side benefit.
This also makes me think about the Chinese wisdom of FungShui 風水, which emphasizes on creating a good, comfortable environment for you that boost your luck and fortune. I don’t know too well but some general rules includes having a nice, open view out of your window, having a balanced view with sea and mountains, avoid having sharp objects pointing to you even though they do not move, etc. If you think about it, it is the same thing as being a PIG and a handsome guy, you are trying to optimize the environment to improve your performance.
Combining what I’ve learnt from the book the richest man in Babylon, you do good preparations and this creates luck. Just like how the Chinese FungShui 風水 says it.
It is 11:45PM right now and I gotta go to bed now. Talk soon!
